West Cork Farmers Markets
The scenic, sometimes wild, west of Cork has always prided itself on family farms and an eclectic mix of small yet internationally renowned producers, such as the cheese & smokehouse masters at Gubbeen.
The weekly markets at Skibbereen, Bantry and Clonakilty are the biggest and best established. But smaller, sometimes seasonal markets can be found in many towns and villages, with the Country Market in the gorgeous fishing village at Schull a particular favourite with locals and visitors in the know.
West Cork markets are strongly focused on local, high-quality and organic produce and fish from their wild waters. You will discover adventurous stalls and street-food vendors who fuse the finest regionally sourced ingredients with European, Asian and South American influences.
West Cork markets also have a very strong local crafts element, everything from pottery and knitwear to jewellery, stained-glass and woodwork.
