The Farmgate Cafe, English Market

A fun, busy self-service café on the balcony overlooking the stalls and the main entrance to the famous old English market – the Balcony café at the Farmgate is a great spot to sit for a while and watch the bustling, colourful market down below. Great coffee, cakes and sandwiches.

The Dining Room offers table service, and is run by the inimitable Mirco Fondrini who also chooses the best of European wines to complement the menu. Speciality dishes are chalked up on the blackboard daily.

The Balcony offers self-service; seating here overlooks the stalls and fountain in the market below. Our menu is written up every morning.

As well as breakfast and lunch, we serve tea, coffee and cakes both in the morning and afternoon, and we also have a range of gluten free cakes and desserts.
