The Square Table

At The Square Table the goal is to serve good quality, uncomplicated food that is locally sourced and served in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.

Twin sisters, Martina and Tricia Cronin, choose their suppliers from among local, artisan, small businesses who are as passionate about food as they are. Inspired by watching their mother cook from an early age, these choices are very personal. Their Coolea cheese is from where their mother grew up. The Macroom flour used to make their tasty brown soda bread is the flour their mother always uses. The butcher who supplies most of their meat is the butcher they had growing up. The mushrooms come from Ballyhoura Mushrooms, delivered by Mark and Lucy. Lettuce used in the salads and garnishes comes from Malachy who picks it in the morning and delivers it in time for lunch.

Between them they offer the skill-set of a fine dining restaurant without the frills. Sure to be listed among Cork restaurants for a long time to come. Bon Appetit!

The Square Table is available for private parties and can comfortably accommodate up to 34 diners. The menu can be customised to suit your gathering. Ask about the selection of canapés and other menu options.

Recommended in the 2017 Michelin Guide for the UK and Ireland, the Michelin inspector wrote “Sweet restaurant with a warm, welcoming, neighbourhood feel. Menus offer French-influenced dishes crafted from Irish produce; the early evening menu is good value. It’s proudly and enthusiastically run by twins Tricia and Martina.”
