The Franciscan Well Brewpub on North Mall, Cork city have launched their 2019 tourism season with an array of traditional & contemporary events.
The brewpub, which won Best Tourist Bar at the Sky Bar Awards 2018 will be running brewery tours daily at 2,4 and 6pm. ‘As the popularity of locally brewed craft beer has grown, brewery driven travel has followed suit’ says Kate Clancy, marketing manager for the Franciscan Well Brewpub. ‘ We have seen the potential of the beer tourism market in Ireland and have expanded our tours to run daily three times a day.’
After the successful collaboration with Jameson in creating Caskmates, the ‘Well’ have also introduced a unique beer & whiskey pairing experience, where customers can hear how the collaboration begun and pair both Caskmates IPA & Stout with Chieftain IPA & Shandon Stout.
For the 5th season they are welcoming back Teddy Black, a traditional Irish Story Teller. Steeped in lore handed down orally for centuries, he is a repository of intimate local history and characters - a seanachai in the venerable Irish tradition. Teddy will be in the bar every Wednesday from 8.30pm and admission is free.
Come June their award-winning beer garden will play host to traditional Irish music from 3 pm daily. Other weekly events will include Monday ‘Brewhouse Sessions’ Sunday Brewhouse Jazz and Spanish nights.
The Franciscan Well are known for some of Ireland’s oldest beer festivals and this summer have announced festivals such as a Cocktail Festival, Fem-Ale Fest and much more.
